Shipping & Samples Updates - Beginning May 12th

Beginning on May 12th 2008, the US Postal Service is raising rates on all of their mail classes. Unfortunately, this means that we will also need to make a small increase to our domestic shipping fees in order to accommodate for the higher rates. For orders under $20, the new shipping rate will be $4.50, and for orders between $20 - $60, the new shipping rate will be $6.50. We will continue to offer free Priority Mail shipping for all USA orders over $60 in value. (Our current International shipping rates will remain in effect.)
We are also happy to announce that beginning on May 12th, we will be lowering prices on all of our mineral makeup sample jars! Along with this change, our sample baggies are being permanently discontinued (and are priced at 50% off, now through Thursday, May 8th) and the amount of product per sample jar will also be adjusted to reflect the new, lower prices.
We’ve decided to make these changes to our samples for two main reasons. Because we offer our samples in very convenient 5 gram jars (versus baggies only), we are unable to offer free shipping on sample orders, so we feel that a lower price point would be a great benefit for our customers. And by revisiting our customer feedback and data over the last 3-1/2 years, we’ve realized that our extremely generous sample sizes were more like minis rather than true “samples”. The vast majority of mineral makeup companies offer samples that provide their customers with only a few days worth of product — so you can imagine our surprise when our customers repeatedly mentioned getting several months of usage out of one sample!
Our new sample sizes will be adjusted so that you will receive 1 - 2 weeks of use per sample, depending on the amount of product used and how often it’s applied. (Certainly your mileage may vary, but this is our best approximation.) We know this may upset some customers, so that’s why we wanted to offer a grace period in which everyone will be available to purchase our sample jars at their current prices/sizes. And we’re confident that when you compare our new samples with those of the other popular mineral makeup companies, you’ll find that they will be very similarly sized (if not bigger, depending on the company) and will continue to be priced at a fantastic value!
